Account auditing

The Nature Commission produces annual account for reporting purposes, and as part of our Annual Validation. We are looking for a qualified accountant to audit these accounts, to ensure we are doing it correctly, meeting best practice, and to identify more efficient ways to manage this.

The Nature Commission is a Guernsey charity that works with business, government, the third sector, and the public to enhance the Island's natural environment and promote greater native biodiversity. In particular, the Nature Commission is working to reverse the decline in biodiversity by protecting and enhancing Guernsey's natural environment for the health of our economy and well-being of our island community.

Skillset Needed

If you are a qualified accountant, we would love to hear from you! Our accounts aren't particularly complex, but we would like to make sure we are doing it right, and to be advised if there are betters ways of doing what we need to do. Your review and input would be appreciated. 

Timeframe/ Time Commitment

You can either do the audit as a one off, or you are welcome to help the Nature Commission with our accounting needs on an ongoing basis.

Our upcoming reporting period concludes in July 2026, marking the end of two major grant agreements. Having our accounts in excellent order to facilitate that would be very helpful for a smooth reporting process.

In return for your skills, you would receive...

  • Public recognition and visibility for your [organisation’s] contribution, including attribution in media releases, campaign communications, and social media content.
  • Brand exposure through logo placement on reporting materials (where appropriate).

  • A marketing-ready case study, enabling your organisation to showcase the partnership, outcomes, and impact across your own channels.

  • Verified volunteer hours that can be included in internal impact, CSR, or ESG reporting.
