How to Support this Project

To support this project, please contact: treasurer@edible.gg

Edible Guernsey envisions a future in which every person in Guernsey has access to fresh, locally and sustainably grown food. They offer Members the opportunity to participate in growing as part of a supportive community, to share their experiences with and knowledge about sustainable growing with others and to experiment with innovative growing techniques. Edible Guernsey aspires to be an incubator, to seed the growth of new commercial ventures and expand the diversity and amount of fresh, local and sustainable food produced in Guernsey.

Project Information

Edible Guernsey plays an important role in promoting local food growing, sustainability, and community engagement across the island. Through initiatives such as community planting, educational activities, and partnerships with local organisations, the project encourages people to connect with where their food comes from while helping to build a stronger, greener community. However, much of this work currently relies heavily on volunteers, which can make it difficult to maintain consistency, coordinate activities, and expand the organisation’s impact.

Funding a paid management role would provide Edible Guernsey with the dedicated leadership needed to organise projects more effectively, develop new partnerships, and ensure the long-term sustainability of its work. A paid role would oversee volunteer management, plan events and community planting initiatives, manage communication with partners, and secure additional funding or sponsorship opportunities. This would allow the organisation to operate more strategically and grow its reach across the island.

Funding needed

£22,000 per annum.
